Un Fill
Our memories are like a fraying rope.
The las thread can be tense, vibrant, tangled.
Can we stay connected?
Can we lose the tension?
Can we remember our mirrored self?
During covid time, Heung Won Lee and Marine Fernandez had to stop the activities with the company and quarantined together, the duet was born then as a creative research in a leaving room. The focus was about creating some visual images when threading two bodies.
Later on their artistic director gave them opportunity and time to work on their duet and to present it for an audience in a miniature evening.
The duet was about 10 minutes long, and has been performed again.
Every time Marine and Lee were refining it adding an emotional / dramaturgic layer to the work.
Recently the duet became a 20 minutes piece that was premiered in Singapore. The artists have been working on this creation for 4 years on and off and in this time their relationship have been going through different phases, which makes the piece an interesting reflection of the evolution of a relationship in time with all the complexity it involves to be artists working together and loving each other, having different past traumas.
